Inveraray
 This
was the last Castle we visited. We arrived before the Castle opened for
tours and actually saw the Duke walking his dogs. The Duke of Argyll's
family, the senior branch of the Clan McDougall, moved from Loch Awe to
Inveraray in the 15th century. This Castle replaced an earlier traditional
fort and marks the start of more settled times in the country. On display,
are famous Armoury Collections, French tapestries and Scottish furniture. |
